Never to roll again...

I spent all Friday trying to get some new seats for the Fiat. There are none in the junkyards around here, but I was looking for something that would fit. I didn't find anything that I was willing to pay for, but I still find junkyards increadable places.

So many cars!

Stacks of cars.

Look! A 70's Buick Rivi...

Why would someone throw away a perfectly good jeep like this? As you can see, the engine is even still there. (Look where the back seat should be.)

I guess no car is immune... (I didn't take this picture, Ferrari 308's don't end up in junkyards in Montana.)

If I only had a garage... I could save this machine. Heck... Even if I just had a yard I could keep this steam shovel in I might do it.

yes, i can appreciate the terrible pulling feeling of wanting to shed all worldly possessions while simultaneously being able to say I'd owned every type of car in the world by the time i died.

The amateur sophist has it right again. A man living in a closet with no possession worth more than $1.50 who just happens to own a "yard" that saves the best vehicles that Italy, Detroit, and even England (an aberrant moment?) have produced. And in his spare time rails against global warming. Go figure. Inconsistency is the hobgoblin of very little minds.
Cheers,
Sam

I just think about it this way. If I own more of these cars, and I can only drive one car at a time, then every car I own except the one I am currently in and driving is off the road. So I take vehicles off the road by putting them in my parking lot!
